Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children

• At least 750 hours of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center, or comparable group care program, in the appropriate age level (preschool)., OR

• One year or 1500 hours of qualifying teaching experience in Registered Family or Certified Family childcare, OR

• Documentation of attaining at least step 6 in the Oregon Registry (myORO), OR

• 9 Quarter credits in two CKC’s (3 must be in HGD or UGB), OR

• A minimum of an associate’s degree from a college or university with a major in (Early childhood education or child development), OR

• A state or nationally recognized credential, e.g

• CDA related to preschool-age care

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues

• Passion for working with children and fostering their love of learning

• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with staff, children, and families

Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate starting at $17.00 per hour, based on experience

• Pay: From $17.00 per hour

• Expected hours: No less than 22 per week

• 4 hour shift

• Monday to Friday

• No weekends

Responsibilities

• Hours: Part-time, Monday - Friday 1:30pm to 6:00pm

• As a Preschool Teacher, you will guide children through developmentally appropriate activities, promote social-emotional learning, and build strong relationships with families

• Your creativity, patience, and dedication will help foster a love for learning in each child

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster creativity, exploration, and social skills

• Create a warm and inviting classroom environment that encourages learning and development

• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social and emotional growth

• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about their child’s development and activities

• Maintain good parent/provider relationships

• Collaborate with fellow teachers to promote a cohesive and supportive learning atmosphere

• Setting relationships between children

• Maintain First Aide and CPR and Central Background Registry and fingerprinting

• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices

• Daily cleaning schedule
